This week I listened to Fleetwood Mac and tried to write a song in a similar style. I soon found myself falling head over heels for Stevie Nicks. There was also a Songaweek Subreddit challenge to write a love song, so what better way to express my infatuation than in song.
Here is a YouTube video of the recorded performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iX19UouiUQ
Lyrics
I feel guilty listening to your broken heart
I wish I could tell you this was just the start
You look oh so happy spinning in your dress
What a fool am i to want to wish you the best
But I wrote you a love song unrequited forever long
Your voice, your eyes your lips, that tambourine upon your hips
God, send this back to '76, I think I love you, Stevie Nicks
The way you sing your songs stand the test of time
Don't you know I get lost in your gypsy eyes
Don't even get me started with the gems you write
They dance like the wings of a bird in flight
So I wrote you a love song unrequited forever long
Your voice, your eyes, your lips, that tambourine upon your hips
God, send this back to '76, I think I love you, Stevie Nicks
(harmonica solo)
I wrote you a love song unrequited forever long
Your voice, your eyes, your lips, that tambourine upon your hips
God, send this back to '76, I think I love you, Stevie Nicks
