This week I wrote a song in the style of Jim Croce. Unfortunately, I could only use my camera's microphone which resulted in a lower quality recording.

Lyrics

Handy man Jack and Mary walking on down the aisle
They put their money together and bought a fixer-upper down the line
Water's coming through the ceiling, a breeze coming through the hall
A basement full of bumble bees and there's termites in the walls

Call him a honey-do slave, when he's dead he will be free
You can write it on his grave, "This house will be the death of me"

Jack's got a big old belt filled with the tools he needs
Got a ladder in his hands, big old boots upon his feet

Well there's cracks in the foundation, there's no hinges on the doors
It's hardly a habitation, there's holes in the boards on the floors

Call him a honey-do slave, when he's dead he will be free
You can write it on his grave, "This house will be the death of me"

He don't need on inspector, he's gonna bring it up to code
Jack's a handyman superhero, drives a truck with a heavy load

There's leaning walls of cinder blocks, the fireplace is burning wrong
Still haven't found the breaker box, the sink is dripping all night long

Call him a honey-do slave, when he's dead he will be free
You can write it on his grave, "This house will be the death of me"

The house is painted railroad brown, the water heater's fading fast
The toilet won't flush all the way down, every job seems like it's his last

Call him a honey-do slave, when he's dead he will be free
You can write it on his grave, "This house will be the death of me"

You can write it on his grave, "This house will be the death of me"

"This house will be the death of me"
